Jerry’s personal life mission statement
Jerry Coopersmith, a Certified Clinical and Transpersonal Hypnotherapist, received over 500 hours of training from The Florida Institute of Hypnotherapy (FIH), the only state licensed school of Hypnotherapy in Florida. He is a member in good standing with The International Association of Interpersonal Hypnotherapists (IAIH)
Jerry brings a wealth of life experience to his hypnotherapy practice. Jerry first obtained his associates degree in Physiological Psychology from Mesa College in San Diego, California. He then continued his career in healing as an Officer in the United States Army Nurse Corps. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma. He then went on to obtain a Master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of San Diego. He was a National Health Service Corps Scholar and worked for the Federal Bureau of Prisons as a Uniformed Officer for the United States Public Health Service Corps. He then went on to work for the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, and eventually became the managing Nurse Practitioner for Home Based Primary Care. It is from these experiences that he worked extensively with diagnosis such as PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, Habitual Behaviors lowered Self-esteem, Self-Neglect and Despair.
It is during this time that Jerry realized that patients had a very powerful ability to control things such as surgical, acute and chronic pain without the use of Narcotics. In addition, he realized that chronic disease states such as Diabetes, Obesity, Heart Disease and many other disease states could be controlled by altering behaviors. It was apparent to him that habits such as Over-eating, Smoking, Alcohol and Drugs were all efforts to mask the true underlying feelings and emotions that a person is trying to avoid. Eventually, these behaviors become maladaptive. They cause diseases, relationship problems and general dissatisfaction with life.
He came to realize that Hypnosis is a powerful way to realize and change these negative emotions, feelings and scripts that are causing the behaviors and transform them into something that is more useful and positive to better fit the client’s current experience.
Having the highest standard of training in Hypnotherapy, Jerry personalizes sessions to meet the individual needs of each client. He believes that no two people are the same, and although we may share desires like peace of mind, success, confidence, acceptance, and a prefect body image, each person has their own personal perspective.
Using a variety of powerful transformative modalities such as Regression Therapy, Parts Therapy, and Gestalt techniques, Jerry facilitates incredible positive change in his clients, both physically and emotionally.
